Declaration of Federal Political Council Presidium of the Political Party “Union of Right Forces” (SPS)

We are outraged by the CEC’s resolution which declared law competent actions of St. Petersburg election committee to withdraw the slate of Russian Democratic Party “Yabloko” from forthcoming elections.

Political party “Union of Right Forces” has already expressed its opinion on the situation around our friends in St. Petersburg. We hoped that the slate of “Yabloko” would be reestablished, but it did not happen.

Once again for the sake of power party’s interests democratic procedures were violated, idea of free and opened elections was discredited. Nevertheless we believe that political party “Yabloko” has a chance to prove its case in court.
