‛Souyz Pravykh Sil‛ (SPS or «Union of Right Forces») unites the supporters of liberal choice for Russia, the people convinced in the fact that the place of our country is among civilized states with developed economy and democratic traditions.

 SPS was founded in 2001. SPS is the heir of ‛Democratic Choice for Russia‛ party, which was founded in 1994 and merged SPS along with other smaller parties of democratic orientation.

 SPS consistently stands for liberal principles in politics and economy. The purposes of SPS are assistance to strengthening of civil society and democratic legal state in Russia, following the constitutional principles of federalism and local self-government, promotion of democratic and liberal values in public mentality, development of democratic and liberal reforms.

 At present SPS numbers more than 60 000 members and is in the process of active growth.

 SPS (as well as ‛Yabloko‛) is the largest democratic extraparliamentary party in Russia.

 The regional branches of SPS work in 84 subjects of Federation. There are over 1000 local branches of SPS in the regions. The largest regional branches of SPS with over 1000 members work in the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Kemerovo region, Sverdlov region, Moscow region, Orenburg region, Stavropol region, Krasnoyarsk region, Voronezh region, Omsk region Altai region, republic of Sakha-Yakutia, Komi-Perm autonomous region.

 SPS is represented by 107 deputies in 43 regional parliaments. The largest groups of SPS deputes are represented in parliaments of  the cities of Moscow and St. Peterburg, Arkhangelsk region, Amur region, Astrakhan region, Perm region, Smolensk region, Evenkia autonomous area,  republic of Buryatia, republic of Sakha.

 In accordance with SPS charter the leading bodies of the Party are Party’s Congress, Party’s Council, Federal Political Council. The general political leadership of the Party is provided by Federal Political Council and a chairman of Federal Political Council. Executive and management body of SPS is an executive office.

 At present Nikita Yu. Belykh is the leader of SPS party, Leonid Ya. Gozman is his deputy.
